Who Would You Pick for the Maple Leafs-Red Wings Alumni Game?

The NHL is reportedly set to announce that Original Six rivals Toronto and Detroit will face off in the 2013 Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich., festivities which will include an alumni game at Comerica Park.

We asked hockey writer Kevin McGran what lines he’d like to see at the proposed Maple Leafs-Red Wings alumni game.

Maple Leafs alumni

Forwards:

Dave Andreychuk, Doug Gilmour, Nik Borschevsky (the Red Wings’ nightmare line)

Wendel Clark, Mats Sundin, Rick Vaive (the captain’s line)

Gary Roberts, Joe Nieuwendyk, Tie Domi (in case Joey Kocur shows up)

Norm Ullman, Dave Keon, Darryl Sittler (all class and skating line)

Defence:

Ron Wilson, Randy Carlyle (Brian Burke’s favourites)

Borje Salming, Al Iafrate (Kevin McGran’s favourites)

Bob McGill, Jim McKenny (Media favourites)

Goaltenders:

Curtis Joseph, Glenn Healy. (Healy only plays if Joseph bolts for Wings midway through game).

Brett Hull-Steve Yzerman-Brendan Shanahan (to deal with Kocur-Domi)
